Congressman Hinchey on Social Security: Bush Was AWOL (What???)
The Word Unheard out of Ithaca, NY is that Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), at a conference he hosted called 'The Future Of Social Security', stated flatly and firmly that the fake memos used by CBS in the infamous 'memogate' flap were planted by Karl Rove. (Hat Tip: Little Green Footballs)
(Could this be the first test for MSNBC and Connected Coast to Coast? Possibly. It is likely they will cover it at 12PM EST, as there is a 'blogstorm' brewing already over this. The LGF scoop has been linked by some major blogs already. But what makes it a test is if it goes unmentioned in the mainstream media until then. And if the rest of the MSM does cover it, will it be because they know that C2C is coming at 12PM with both barrels a-blazin'? And wouldn't that be a good thing? Now can you see the impact of this new show? Call me crazy. Tell me my review was too positive. Go ahead.)
LGF has an audio clip of the exchange between Hinchey the Clown (aka Mo) and an audience member questioning his statements. Listen to the audio clip and hear for yourself. Listen to the crowd cheer his 'courage', doing what "few people are willing to do". Few people, huh? Geepers, Wally. I wonder why?
Is The Left coming unglued? Well, consider this rant was the central diatribe at a meeting titled 'The Future of Social Security'. Social Security! No matter what the topic, every meeting of the minds in liberal camps comes right back to the center of their purpose: Bush is the Lying Liar who Lied!
The un-hinged Hinchey said:
"They knew that Bush was a draft dodger. They knew that he had run away from his responsibilties in the Air National Guard in Texas, gone out of the state intentionally for a long period of time."
Let's assume the fantasy that Bush shirked his military duties for the moment (draft-dodging, AWOL, and the like).
If this Congressional Clown is so concerned about draft dodgers, where was his concern from 1992-2000 with one William Jefferson Clinton? Clinton stated in his deferal request that he 'loathed the military', an assertion he proved while President.
Besides, Hinchey the Clown, I thought protesting the VietNam War was courageous? Oh...if you're a Democrat...forgot. Silly wabbit.
Let's see here, assuming Bush 'ran from his responsibilites', let's put this into perspective: Bush then would have ran to Alabama to drink beer with some fellers. Willy (who lived even closer to them fellers) decided to go completely out of the country...and protest (courageously) in Moscow, no less.
Be brave, Hinchey the Clown. Oh, continue to be brave. Go boldly where no man has gone before and serve your country well.
Oh, and when you are done...please...Sit down and shut the hell up before you hurt yourself.
All with Howard Dean at the helm...
O' Captain, My Captain...
UPDATE: From Hinchey the Clown's website comes this gem:
WHAT: Community Forum -- The State of Social Security: An Honest Discussion
WHO: Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY)
WHEN: Saturday, February 19, 2005 1:00-3:00pm
WHERE: Ithaca Town Hall 215 North Tioga Street, Ithaca, New York
1. An 'Honest' discussion??? Didn't he just lie? ...errr...I am sorry, insinuate without proof...
2. How much 'honest' discussion covered Social Security, I wonder?
3. 24 hours (note end time) and no MSM mention, but a blogstorm has taken form. If it gets any sort of coverage, we'll know why.
Now, many may say that this is crazy and doesn't warrant any coverage. To that I reply:
What this means is that if you're going to go nuts, you'd better bring a doctor's note. We will no longer tolerate such unfounded, baseless accusations from those in positions of power and influence.
Isn't that what brought down Rather?
Isn't that what brought down Eason Jordan?
It wasn't bloggers. It was baseless, unfounded, wild accusatations without evidence challenged by bloggers. Rather, Mapes and Eason merely fell off the ride because they didn't have anything to hold onto.
Hey, Mo...wanna take a ride on the Whirly-Go-Round, too?
You sure about that?
