USMC_Vet Guest Posts at The Blue State Conservatives
In an attempt to help represent New Jersey (a very Blue and as of yet relatively unmentioned State) at Brian Scott's The Blue State Conservatives, I have guest posted what was originally intended to be a New Jersey Governor Race 2005 Round-Up. You will see, it turned out to be more of an Outsider's Introductory Primer for New Jersey Politics than an actual Round Up of the candidates and the race in general.
It just pained me to find, read and provide pertinent informatin regarding each candidate, their platforms and political history. As I said in the post, politics can really get me fired up...but New Jersey politics is too corrupt and just generally revolting to maintain any interest in.
The dominant Democrat party is cosntantly embroiled in corruption controversies and investigations that seem to haev no effect on voting trends in the New Jersey electorate, which frustrates and baffles me.
The soft Republican party in New Jersey maintains only glimmers of conservatism most of the time...and conservaitsm is what's important. What party represents (or claims but fails to represent)conservatism is inconsequential.
So, conservatives continue the cycle of getting excited every four years for presidential elections, while holding our noses when voting in our own.
